Why do I use the materials that I use for my art? I have always thought the answer is obvious. and I am not sure if I can always speak about it clearly. Unfortunately I could not reach them to take them off. But they inspired me, as did that scene in American Beauty of the plastic bag dancing. Was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play wit.

I posted this first by mistake on my In the Kitchen blog. Last week I made a couple of silk screens using a photo-emulsion process for getting the image onto the screen. So that the image went directly into a Photoshop file.

This book cover is made using left overs from a quilt I made many years ago. I had ruched some thin fabric, dyed it using a palette of various blues, then cut out and appliqued leaves to a pale blue background.
